I change the ceiling light in my bedroom. Everything went all right. I turn the circuit breaker switch back on and the light came on, but I can't turn the light off. I thought it might be the wall light switch so I installed a new one but the same thing is happening. I need help.:( :(

Lets start with a description of the wires you found inside the ceiling box. What colors do you see and how many of each? Sounds like you may have reconnect a black wire that was in the box but not part of the light fixture circuit.

Biggsie ask a very relevant question. Is the switch you are referring to mounted on the wall or is it the pull chin incorporated into the light?

Assuming you are referring to a wall switch, then you probably miswired the switch loop to the light if that was the original design. In the ceiling, you should have two pairs of black/white cables. One would go back to the to the wall switch the other would eventually end up on the panel box.

This wiring design is made as follows, Black from the power supply to White from the switch. Make sure that there is a small wrapping of black tape on the white wire to the switch. The Black wire from the switch goes to the black wire on the fixture. The white wire from the panel box connects to the white in the fixture and the bare grounds are connected together.

The other method would be to bring power to the switch and then bring power to the fixture. That connection would have black from the switch to black on the fixture and white from the switch to white on the fixture. Then connect your bare grounds together.
