Found Snake Skins in House
I recently found 3 snake skins underneath a basement bathroom tub as I removed it. The tub had been put in after the home was built so there was a large hole jackhammered in the basement concrete floor to install the drain. There was apparently no effort to seal the hole after the tub was installed. I'm refinishing the lower level and will definitely seal the hole, but I'm trying to figure out if I need to be searching the whole basement for a snake that may be trapped once I seal the hole. I live in Virginia and we have been having some cold weather (nights into the low 30's... maybe not cold depending on your perspective... I'm originally from NY) and the home is currently not heated because of the renovations. Is it likely that the snake found it's way back to it's wintertime home? Is it more likely that it came in through the hole (from underneath the house) or came through the house and hibernated in the hole? I also found a few snake skins in the attic, so it has been a problem in the past. I know we should be able to co-exist, but I hate the idea of stumbling across one of these house guests. Thanks in advance for any advice...
