    If we keep a solid in a vessel and then add water in the vessel the solid will experience an upward force called buoyant force.. if magnitude of buoyant force is equal to weight of the solid then the solid will float on water surface... Same is the case with any other kind of liquid... the magnitude of buoyant force depends on the volume of solid and density of liquid used
