    State the amplitude and period of the sinusoid, and (relative to the basic function) the phase shift and vertical translation.

    y= 2/3 cos ([x-3]/4) +1

    The basic form of the equation that you are interested in is:

    Where A = amplitude, = frequency, p = phase shift, and v = vertical dislacement. Can you take it fom there?

    We have a sinusoidal function whose general form is

    y = Acos(wt + p) + v

    The following formulas will be useful:

    Amplitude = | a |

    Period = 2pi / w

    Phase shift = p / w

    Vertical shift = d.

    Can you take it from there?
