Sign a retainer for paperwork on probating a living trust?
My wife is executor of a living trust, her mother just died and we contacted the lawer's office who wrote the trust and were contacted by his secretary who wants us to sign a back dated retainer (a week maybe). She has talked to us for maybe an hour and a half on the phone. They would be sending out two sets of the will and living trust to two of the benificiaries and paper work for putting the deed in my wife's name as the trustee through the county. Is this the norm or should I refuse to sign a retainer and ask for a set fee? Any help is greatly apreciated. In Calif. Mike
