I'm 40 and usually have 3 day periods but I've been bleeding abnormally heavy and for the past few hours I have been passing clots as big as tennis balls I have had 6 kids and a tubal 6years ago.should I be alarmed?

This happened to me and most of my friends around the time we turned 40. I saw my doctor when it started and he said it was normal. But you should still see your doctor anyway.

It your periods only last 3 days then this is not normal for you. I agree our body's change as we get older but definatley have it checked. Request an ultrasound 1/2 way through your cycle. This can show if the lining is thicken or not. Could be a simple polyp which can be removed with a D&C.
