Hampton Bay Lights come on by themselves
I have a five year old Hampton Bay ceiling fan with lights and remote. I do not know the model. It is installed in a cathedral ceiling so I cannot reach it. The lights come on by themselves! It is in the bedroom and I've woken up several time because the lights have come on. I have been lying there watching TV and the lights come on. The remote is located on the side table.

The remote and the receiver have dip switches that set the frequency. I'd would suggest changing both to a new frequency. Unfortunately that does mean getting on a ladder but I think the receiver is picking up a RF frequency from some other source maybe even a TV remote outside your home or a garage door opener.

I agree, change the frequency on the fan receiver and on the remote.
