Schedule 40 failure due to freezing
I would like to know the freeze line in Bristol Tn and the recommended depth for water line also where I can find listings for different areas. I would also like to find specifications on freeze failure for schedule 40 pvc.

Local zoning codes will specify at what depth you need to berry a water line. As for the other part of the question, do a search for ASME and there should be some specs on burst pressures there.

if the water in the pipe is moving at frozen temp, there won't be any damage( but If you don't want the pipe to freeze, assume the wost condition, bury it below frost line). I think no one would take into consideration about when the pipe would failed, they think it would failed when frozen
