Hello:
I have a good buddy who has a daughter that I like. Should I see if I can strike something up with her, or do I ask permission from him first? Or do I need his permission at all?

No matter how you play it, it's a risky game at best. Are (all three of) you emotionally equipped for high-stakes gambling?
P.S. The stakes are directly proportional to the value you place on your friendship with him.
Age probably plays a BIG role here. If you have the time throw some more info at us. Thanks
Is she legal? Just kidding. If I were you I would talk to my buddy and say that I really like your daughter and ask if he had objections if you asked her out. I know you are an adult and so is your friend and so is his daughter - but it is courtesy you are offering to him. If he has objections, he would be up front enough to tell you, not? Then you would need to make up your own mind and either go forward or drop the whole matter. If it were me and my friend objected, I would step back. A good friend is more valuable to me than a potential partner. But then I do not know her either - she might be worth stepping over her Dad's opinions.
Which ever way you do this, good luck to you.
Hello again:
Thanks for all the advice. I know a LOT about legal stuff, but it blows my mind how little I know about this stuff.
She lives just across town in Seattle, but he lives in Chicago.
I'm probably not going to do anything... It would be really awkward if anything were to progress... But she IS a babe. Oh, well.

She may think you are pretty hot too. How are you ever going to know?
How good a buddy is he? If he's worth losing then go for it I say! If he is a good bloke he may even understand.
Your buddies would only be good blokes wouldn't they excon?
Nothing ventured nothing gained , I say at least ask him. Maybe not directly if your worried about that but try and find a subtle way of doing it. What have you got to lose?
How old is this "daughter" and how old are you?Quote:
