Why is my 1 month old spitting up ALL of his formula all of a sudden?
My 1 month old seems very hungry, but he is spitting up all of his formula all of a sudden. We burp him, which isn't always effective but even if he does burp he still spits up all that he drank which isn't very much maybe an ounce. We don't know what to do. PLEASE HELP!

Tell me about the spitting up. Is it just drooling out of his mouth? Projectile?

Is he gaining weight at a normal pace?

There are different types of formula. You might want to change to a different type.

    Acid Reflux: Thickened Formulas

    US: Enfamil AR LIPIL

Canada: Enfamil A+ Thickened with Rice Starch

This type of formula will thicken by itself once it reaches the stomach; hence minimizing the possibility of regurgitation. Some pediatricians may also recommend soy or extensively hydrolyzed formulas for babies with acid reflux.

Or try soy based formulas like Enfamil Prosobee

First of all, before advising to change the formula, we have to know what is going on. Some babies are just spitters, yet others have GERD, AR, or something more serious as pyloric stenosis.

At 1 month old formula should not be changed without first discussing it with the doctor.

Hi my baby was the same , and we were prescribed infant gaviscon for babies with reflux or trapped wind even though he had none of those it worked a treat , its worth speaking with your health visitor too . We went through so much feeding trouble with our son and also tried every formula on the shelves untlill we finally noticed a change which was on aptimil milk .

It could be a number of things he could be lactose intolerent or not agreeing with the formula he is on or it could be he's just got gas a remedy I used on my son was very effective it is called gripe water I think the best option though is to take him to a doctor I hope I was a little bit of a help... good luck
