A long time ago, at least 20-25 years, I saw a movie in which there were two young kids who were at the bottom of the work force on an ocean fishing or whaling ship I think... It may have also been a war ship of some kind. One of the boys got hurt in an accident at sea, and had to have his leg cut off. He survived, and eventually worked his way up to be a captain I believe. I'm not sure if one of the boys died or if he also became a captain. Any help naming this movie would be appreciated. I'd love to watch it again.
