    Fluorescent lamp vs ballast
I have a fluorescent ceiling fixture with two circular lamps and two separate ballasts. One of the lamps is not longer lighting. Is there any way to determine which element (lamp or ballast) is defective?

I have used a continuity tester to check out incandescent lamps but am not sure how to do this with fluorescent lamps.

Thanks for any help on this matter.

Special equipment and/or knowledge is required for testing fluorescent lamps and ballasts. Simply try a new lamp, if it works, your done, if not a new ballast is needed.

Like above, Try bulb first, then follow from bulb socket to ballast. Check all connections and socket. The socket connects to the bad ballast.
