My Husband wants to adopt my eight year old. Her biological father has never seen her or paid child support. She nows my husband as daddy since she was 8 months old and I have tried to contact him to give up rights so that we can do the adoption and change her last name but every time I call his family will not let me talk to him and he never calls me back. What can I do.

Get a lawyer and have him served papers for past child support.

Bet he's MORE than happy to return your calls at that point, so that he can sign over his rights with the stipulation that he doesn't have to pay back child support.

You could also get an attorney and file abandonment charges on the bio father... and use that for grounds to terminate his rights... at which time he can agree to willingly sign them over or the courts can decide if it is in the best interest of the child to terminate his rights based on abandonment and allow your husband to adopt.
