Consider hiring a private tutor.

If you are already in a class the agency should be able to provide you with a free volunteer tutor to help get you through. Many states are also now funding Distance Learning Projects through their State Dept. of Education. You can study online from home and you are assigned a teacher to help you with problems who you can communicate with by email and/or phone.
If you are trying to obtain your GED, your local communit college will have GED classes. They are fairly inexpensive. And about two weeks in length.
First off... I would like to commend you for giving it a try @41! You can get through this! I would agree with contacting tutors through your GED classes. You have used the math throughout your life, once you realise the connection... it will be a cinch and you'll be holding that GED in you hands. GOOD LUCK!!
