    Network, How do I setup so Client can access host and change files
    Hi,

    I use Sage accountancy software and need a network of two computers that will allow two users to access the same data and make changes.

    This is what I have done so far. Computer A (Host) is connected directly to the internet. Computer B (Client) is connected to computer A by using a patch cable (Ethernet).
    Both computers can connect to the internet so that is okay.

    I have made the Sage folder available for sharing and to allow changes.
    I have not been able to assign a drive letter to the Sage folder as the path could not be found.
    Can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong.

    Many thanks & best wishes

    I believe what you are asking help with is how to map to a drive from one PC to another's PC? If you have shared the drive the software is installed on, then:

    1. If both of your PC's are connected to the same router, then they should be seeing each other on the Workgroup assigned to them. If they don't share the same workgroup, then make sure they have the same workgroup name.

    My Computer-->Computer Name-->Change-->Member of Workgroup
    If not in the same Workgroup, set it and then reboot.

    2. Map the shared drive. Open an Explore window, then click on Tools-->Map Network Drive--Folder-->Browse-->Microsoft Windows Network--><Your Workgroup>--<Computer Host>--><Shared Drive>--OK

    You have now mapped the drive on your PC to the shared drive on the host PC. This will allow your PC's to share your software and data.

    Cheers
