I have a 15 month old baby. I went for a dna test with a guy and it came back that he's not her biological father. My boyfriend wants to adopt her. So I have two questions... 1. do we have to be married for him to adopt her. 2, Do I have to find out who her biological father is and have him sign over his rights before my boyfriend can adopt her?

1. Not necessarily, but you'd have to find out what the courts would want for proof of commitment.

2. Yes.

The answer to both of your questions is yes. Generally one would have to be a spouse in order to be granted adoption rights and that only after the biological father was contacted and given the opportunity to contest or consent to the adoption, or at least a demonstrated good faith attempt to locate him.
