Taxes taken out of Texas teachers
Hi I'm doing a research paper and one of areas I have to find information on is how much and what type of taxes come out of a Texas teachers paycheck making 38,000 a year. If any one could help me out soon I would greatly appreciate it.Thanks :)

There is no TX state income tax, which is a good thing!
Fed income tax of around 15%
    Social security tax: 6.4%
    Medicare: 1.45%

So total taxes of around 22.8%. In addition you may have deductions taken out for things such as employee's portion of medical & dental insurance, any retirement plan contributoins, and perhaps union dues.
