Can't Print Outlook 2003 HTML emails on Vista
I can't print HTML emails from Outlook 2003 anymore. I am running MS Vista Home Premium . I have already done the following: restarted the printer spooler service, installed Office 2003 SP3 updates, Ran detect and repair on Outlook 2003, and reinstall my printer driver. I have also open and closed Outlook several times. Rebooted my laptop and powered off the printer and back on. This is network printer that I use all the time

I can print text emails and I can print from all of my other applications. Also, I do not get an error message when I try to print an html email.

    Thanks,

    Hi all,

One thing that I found out in my time as Help Desk Support - which has come in handy many times in my life is this...

    ***
Outlook calls on / uses Internet Explorer to print HTML formatted emails.
    ***

See my blog for full details:

( snafder.blogspot.com -> Search for Printing emails from Outlook issue )

In short, for HTML format emails - you can change Outlook's print settings / page setup until you are blue in the face - but nothing will change.
Solution, open IE, and modify the 'Page Setup' there.

This should fix most issues related to printing HTML format emails in Outlook.

Bottom line also could mean IE needs updating / repairing - or you could also need to install service packs for your Outlook.

No guarantees it will help with your particular situation, but I hope it helps

    I nearly forgot to mention.
Make sure that the 'default printer' in Internet Explorer (IE) is NOT a label printer or some non-existant printer.

    Cheers

I had a user that could print from Outlook 2003 but it stripped all the HTML formatting. I could print from Outlook 2007 with no problems. I resolved the problem by opening Internet Explorer>Tools>Internet Options>Advanced and checking the box 'Print background colors and images'. Now it prints everything.
