    Spastic upper gastric pain
I am have pain usually at night after I lay down to go to bed. This pain comes & goes & starts in the center of my stomach, (almost right under the breast) then radiates both left & right. It last for at least 5 minutes and no more than 10 minutes, but is so severe that I can barely get my breath. All I can do is pray & try to breath. Sometimes I get nausiated & throw up (but not always), I break out in a sweat. The pain then dissipates & goes away as quickly as it comes on. This has been happening about 3-6 times a month and occasionally it comes in waves. I am so exhausted when the pain is gone that I just almost pass out. I have had pancreatitis 3 times over a 10 yr period and had my gallbladder removed when I had a gastric bypass in 2001. In 2002 I had to have a thoracic vagotomy because I have peptic ulcer disease. Any thoughts on what this might be? I am desperate.

If you are unintentionally losing weight, have difficulty swallowing solid food, any blood in your bowel movement, you need to be seen by a physician asap.

Your remaining stomach volume may be shrinking due to scarring and this is causing a gastric outlet obstuction.

In my opinion, you need a Esophagogastroduodenoscopy [ upper endoscopy ].

Are you taking any medications to reduce stomach acid? [ Prilosec, nexium, zantac etc.]

I had very similar issues and after a scope was placed down my throat learned I had a small hiatal hernia. I suggest you do some internet research and see if it sounds like your symptoms.
