    Are you speaking of the Search tool here at AskMeHelpDesk, or of Search Engines like Google, Yahoo, etc.

    Please change the color of your font, as it's hard to see for some of us 'old' folks. If you are talking about the search part on this forum look way on top, there is a box in the middle called 'search forums' with a 'go' button.

    If you are talking about an internet search engine, depends on what explorer you use, i.e. Yahoo, Google, or mozilla etc. they should also have a 'search box' where you just type in your key words, and click on 'go'.

    If you lost one because is was mywebsearch (for instance) then you have to find it and download it again, as one of your updates from Microsoft or one of your antispyware programs thought it was spyware and got rid of it.

    And if you are talking about the Windows Search feature, that's another story... so get back with us.

    Hope this helps.

    P.S. We do this on our free time and really appreciate feedback if our answers/advice helped or not, please: click the Rate This Post link, click on Approve or Disapprove, and give a comment. Thanks!

    Google search
    Hi,
    It's most effective when you use the least amount of words.
    For example; if you want to find information to answer a question, such as;
    "What are the differences between mp3 and mp4?"

    Don't type in the entire question to search.
    Only type in key words, such as "mp3 and mp4" without quotes, then click on Search.
    The fewer words typed in, in most cases, gives you more links specifically to what you want to find.
    I do wish you the best of luck. Try it some, and you will learn for yourself how to better type the search words.

    2. Use the features of Google's Advanced search, here:
