Ihave a relative who what arrested and placed in a holding cell for stealing from his employer. He is going to trial soon. WHat shoud he expect? Jail time or fine and community service. This was his first offense.

If it was that easy, we wouldn't need judges. There are 100's of factors that go into a sentence. Even if you gave them ALL to me, nobody could say what any judge would do.

Having said that, most judges give first offenders probation.
