The build up of oil and dead skin cells causes whiteheads. Some dermatologists prescribe Differin gel to reduce whiteheads, but apparently it isn't working for you. I recommend using a deep facial cleanser to help disolve the oils and debries on your skin. Also try using a facial scrub once or twice per week to exfloiate the dead skin cells. If you don't see any inprovement, please make an appointment to see your dermetologist. She/he may prescribe Retin-A or other treatments to help prevent and clear up the whiteheads.
