Hi everyone! :D

I'm not sure if this is in the right spot to post this so forgive me if it isn't. I have applied for a job and it is mandatory to take a drug test, although I don't do any drugs myself I am constantly around people who do. The people I live with smoke pot everyday, that doesn't bother me all that much because they can do what they want.

I know that you can get a positive result for THC just from second hand smoke, but are the detection dates the same for 1st and 2nd hand smoke? If I tried to stop them from smoking inside or around me for awhile would it make any difference within the short time it will take the manager to reply to my application? Should I even bother going if I have no chance of passing? Or could I explain that it's not me who does it but friends (I kind of doubt it)? If I go and it comes out positive how could I explain it? Or will I be fine?

I really hope that someone will answer this soon, I need to know, because it won't take them long to get back to me.

Just go and take the test and don't worry about testing positive if you don't do any drugs yourself.

Or remove yourself from the negative influence of people who do something that might jeopardize your future.

They would have to blow in directly in your face for you to catch a positive on your test. Don't worry!

The only way you can test positive for a drug test by being around users is if you are in a car, with the windows rolled up and they are all smoking. Even then, it's a small shot.

As long as you haven't had any, you have nothing to worry about.

Well if it's a urinal tests the probably will be minor traces but they will be too small to be counted as positive.
