Should I get a lawyer for shoplifting?
This was in vancouver, Canada. I don't have a previous record but I admitted that it was my third time. Should I call up the store (I dun even no the guy who brought me in's name) and ask them if they can drop charges? And if so, who do I ask for and what do I say to them.. it was a wake up call for me and I will pay them? Or is it better to just ask the court for a diversion before my court date?

Get a lawyer! Don't say or admit to anything. Hopefully this was a wake up call. Likely you will get probation or suspended sentence if this was your first time and you are remorseful and the item(s) are recovered. The police shoul/could have offered you a diversion charge. The store will likely proceed with civil charges anyway and ban you from the store for 1 year unless you get special dispensation (you have to send a letter as to why they should let you come in) Don't say anything!!
