Ok, I have satellite internet carried by Blue Tooth.

We USEYahoo for a home page,Mozilla Firefox and Google for searching,etc etc.

Our question is, Who pays Yahoo to be online,Only their advertising,or do they get a fee from say, AOL,etc?

Or does AOL charge Yahoo,etc. to use their server?

It's a home debate, You Got to help me>>LOL

The server connects your computer or network to the internet.

Search engines help you find the things your searching, hence the name.

Who pays whom gets tricky. Most revenue that supports search engines does come from advertising, but some offer higher and more attentive access for a fee from induividuals or corporations.

Basically a server is a large computer that is always on and holds a lot of information that it then serves to various requests.

Now a lot of Yahoo's, AOL's and Google's funding comes directly from advertising.
They are all based on their own VAST server farms.

Is Google either one or the other, or both? - Google is a search engine company, but they have a shed load of servers
