Can I legaly move out at 17?
I have a hard time at home. My mom is always the hardest on me. I have 2 younger brothers but they get away with everything. My mom and I are always arguing. Sometimes she hits me but it hasn't happened in a while. I can't live with my dad because he has an alcohol problem. I'm tired of staying with my gram for weeks on end. Just a couple weeks ago my mom kicked me out for the weekend. I have a 20 year old friend who said I could stay with them and a few friends when they get an apartment and I still want to finish school. So is it possible for me to move out in about 4 months when I turn 17? I can't handle any more stress. I want to get out. But I don't want to have to go to court to find out if I can or not. PLEASE!! Send me an answer.

I don't know if it's the same everywhere but in the state I lived in as a child, you could move out at 17 but ONLY if you could support yourself.

To move out on your own before you reach 18, you would have to emancipate yourself. This would mean proving you can support and take care of yourself to a judge. The process takes a while and you are likely to reach 18 first. So I would recommend you tough out the 4 months.
