Hello, I have an older Bryant furnace model # 396gadd36075. I turned on the heat the other day and the no heat. I notice the unit had been turned off (pilot was not lit), apparently by the service company I use when they came to do the spring check for the AC. I followed the instructions to re-light the pilot and turned the unit on. The result was the blower kicked in but the burners still won’t lite. Now the blower stays on and the thermostat is not working at all. Could this be a gas valve or thermostat problem maybe? How can I reset the unit? Thanks.

Turn off the power,, jumper th red and white stat wires together,, at the furnace or unhook from the stat and jumper them together,, turn power back on if fornace goes through the paces and works,, I`d consider the stat is the problem,

The first thing to do is to see if you have the control 24 volts. This is best done by checking the terminals of the transformer with a volt meter. Otherwise, if the above results in the furnace running, you have the voltage. If the blower just runs, either the transformer is dead, or the fuse protecting it is blown. On an older furnace, likely such would b an inline one. Otherwise, your new transformer could die in a cloud of smoke as soon as you turn the power back on.
