Wood or Metal framing for my basement
    Hi Everyone,

I am in the planning stages of finishing my basement. My question is whether I should use wood or metal for the stud walls. Everything I've read indicates that metal is much easier to work with and, while researching the price of lumber and the metal studs, I discovered that there is no price difference.

    Any thoughts on this.

    Thanks in advance.

Seems no one has answered your question so I will shoot my 2 cents. I live in FL so the issue we have is humidity and termites and other bugs feeding on the wood. With the exception of the roof, every room has metal studs. The issue I have found is that when it comes time to nail in the baseboards or if you want to have a picture, finding that metal stud is a pain. Getting the baseboard to nail in to a metal stud is also a pain.

I guess it really depends if you need to be worried about termites and humidity. Since you are building your basement, I'm going to make a guess that you don't live in Florida since 90% of the homes here don't have basements!
