    Outside outlet
I just went to plug in my halloween lights and there is no power. I tried all the breakers and nothing. All my props are working if I plug them into an extension cord from inside. So my problem is in the outlet. Everything was working fine when I unpluged them this morning. Could you please give some suggestions on what could be the problem? Thank you

Is it a GFCI outlet with RESET and TEST buttons. Press the RESET button.

Also look for tripped breakers. If you gently push them toward the on position, the one that's tripped will move slightly. Move to off, then on.

If the outlet outside isn't a GFCI, check your known GFCI outlets inside to be sure one is not tripped. Sometimes a GFCI outlet is installed inside to ground fault protect an outlet outside. If this is not the case, and if no breakers are tripped, it is likely you have a bad connection either at the outside outlet, or a preceding outlet on the same circuit. I would start at the bad outlet and see what you find there. Be very careful!! It is very important that you treat these outlets as live when removing them to check their connections. It is a good idea to turn the breakers off to the circuits you are working on. If in doubt, turn all of them off.
