Computer monitor as substitute for a TV
Is it posible for me to hook up a regular computer monitor to my Directv box and use it as my TV receiver?

Do your cables fit between the two devices? They usually don't match.

Computer monitors and TV's use vastly different video systems. You can buy adapters. I in fact have one, a View Sonic. It has inputs for ''S'' video, RCA jacks for video and sound, computer RGB, and RF. I have my TV antenna connected to a DVD/VCR. It feeds the View Sonic. If I can figure out which buttons to push, I can choose to display the computer, the VCR, the DVD, or a TV broadcast on the computer monitor. Sound from any input can go to a box radio I have connected to the View Sonic. It is a VB50HRTV. My son in law picked it up at Circuit City. There are some other devices too.
