Is it safe to get a tattoo while I'm breastfeeding

I have heard it is not. I heard the red ink is the most toxic to your system.

Talk to your doctor, as they are the best people to inform you on your health and babies health. Some things to consider are the possibilities of introducing baby to the chances of getting infection, hepatitis/aids (if not properly sanitized, etc.) and other things you might encounter from getting a tattoo... you take the chance of passing it to baby. But this is just my opinion, and like I said, talk to your doctor.
