What is being done about changing emancipation laws
What is being done in Indiana, if anything, about the discrimination against non-custodial parents. I'm talking about the fact that anyone who is married and wants to tell there adult child(18yrs of age or older) that they have to move out and they are on there own without any legal obligation for support or college, can. A non-custodial parents has to pay support and help pay for college tuition until 21 yrs. Of age.

They're not doing anything to 'help' a non-custodial parent in this situation, I don't believe. They made this law to protect children of parents who are not together so that they can afford to go to college with money from a parent who is not custodial, because otherwise they probably wouldn't be able to afford this, and it's not really fair to the child.

I'm not sure, but emancipation has to be initiated by the child, I thought?

So the non custodial father in Indiana pays support AND college? Doesn't the ex have to contribute if there was no agreement in the divorce laying it all on the father?

It depends on the terms of the divorce/support agreement. There is no straight across the board answer.

If there is no such language in either neither parent has to pay one cent toward College. The non-custodial parent continues to pay support as directed and the child attempts to go to College on his/her own.
