Is the pilot still burning?, when you re-light,does it stay burning?when you raise the temp on stat, does the gas valve open for gas to come out?, tell us more on what you`ve tried
We need more info. Some of the older systems used millivolts to open the gas valve using a thermopile(pilot generator) to generate the DC voltage. You can jumper the two wires together at the thermostat to see if the thermostat is the cause.
