    Wiring driving me crazy!
    Ok here is the story:

I had a White rogers mech thermostat on this Ac and I am going to a programibal digital thermostat now. The attachments are the pics of the wires. I don't know how to tell if I have a heat pump but the way it is hooked up right now it blows warm air and the pipe going into the Airhandler that is normaly cold it HOT! So I think something is reversed but don't have a clue what. The black is not hooked up on the thermo and I unhooked the orange because it would not turn on at all. Oh and this thermostat does not work with a heat pump it says... but I don't know if I have one

    Please help this poor soul

I had to get another thermostat that would support a Heat pump so here is the new one. But I do have power going to it but nothing is happening... when I had the orange whire hooked up nothing happened but when it went to heat it blew. I updated the new thermostat pic

Your old thermostat is energizing the reversing valve in the heat mode(Rheem did this on older systems). Are you using the B or O circuit on the new thermostat? If your using the O circuit the A/C is trying to run with the heat.

I took the Black off and put the orange on the O. now it works but it is only cool and not cold... I think I might need freon now
