    Tar vs. Paint Chipping...
There has been some tar on my front bumper, on the part even with the hood of the car (engine, etc... ) I went today November 7, 2005 to go wash the whole car anyway cause it was dirty, While I was using the high pressure rinse on the tar area, I noticed the was some paint chipping occurring. What is the best manufacture of paint, so I can mix up to fix chiped area? There is still some tar on the car, what can I use to eliminate all of it?

    Please Write Back Soon.

    Thanks

    Tar
    Hi,
A local car parts place carries tar removers for vehicles. Advanced Auto, others, have different brands usually. Most are good for removing tar.
I don't know any specific brand name for paint, but you can buy "touchup" paint, either brush on (like fingernail paint) or spray, to match your particular color. Most auto parts places have specific paint for specific autos names and paint color name.
You can also use a very mild rubbing compound to gently remove some of the oxidized paint on the car, but be careful; don't rub too hard to scratch it. The mild rubbing compound can be used to "feather" the paint specks to match the good paint, by taking off the rough edge where the paint speck was. These are also available from parts places.

Dupli-color has some neat little touchup paint kits, check them out in auto parts stores, as for tar removal, wd-40 works well, just test it in a inconspicuous area to be sure.
