I have recently purchased a used Kenmore Elite Catalyst washing machine and I did not receive an instruction manual. I would simply like information on its settings, and specifically what the Catalyst setting does!

Catalyst cycle allows detergent to soak and penetrate the entire load giving improved stain and soil removal. It last 1-5 minutes depending on cycle selected. You can use it on all but Quickwash and hand wash cycles. It is the recirculating system on this unit. Go to ApplianceJunk.com to download a service manuel fot this unit.
