    Deeds of Records in Maryland
I need to know if I can go online to get a copy of a deed. I am trying to purchase a house and I need to give them a copy of the deed were I use to live with my wife showing I'm not on the Deed.

    Hello E:

I've never seen deeds online. I believe you actually have to go to the courthouse.

You may have to call the county recorders office in MD to see if they are on line. Here in Maricopa Co in AZ, they have all recorded documents on line. All we have to do is enter a name for a search and all documents are accessible for printing, or one can buy an official copy. The wonders of modern science are astounding.

While some places may, more records are on line, I don't know personally of any place with deeds on line. There is an entire industry of people who do nothing but research court record. You will most liekly have to get this from the court directly, not online

Maricopa County shows deeds. Just go to www.maricopa.gov . Then click on recorded documents. Put in any name like Joe Smith.

In Maryland you can get a lot of info about a property online at the Dept of Assessments and Taxation website at Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation. Do a "Real Property Data Search" and you can get much info. Maybe not what you need, but may it will suffice.

    Thanks,
    Jack
