I believe I have a 6 volt battery. Can I jump it or charge it with a 12v charger. Also I believe my fuel pump is bad how can I tell or how can I get a new one and a diagram to put it in myself. Thanks anybody. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP.

Why do you think it is a 6volt battery? Look on the top of the battery, or on the front of the battery and it should have the ca(cranking amps), cca(cold cranking amps), and the voltage either (12vdc, or 6vdc). I would guess it to be the 12volt system, since the 6volt has not been used in such a long period. And I am assuming it to be a briggs and stratton engine. So therefore, it is definitely a 12 volt dc unit. To test the fuel pump if you have not got a pressure tester, I guess you could take the line loose the fuel line to the carb and wearing safety glasses, direct the fuel line into a container, and have someone sit on the seat, depress the clutch/brake pedal and turn the ignition key to the start position. It should be a pretty good strong flow of fuel. If it trickles, you have either a clogged fuel line, fuel filter, fuel tank outlet port, or perhaps a defaulted fuel pump. Usually these fuel pumps on the briggs engines will outlast the rest of the engine.Quote:
