I bought a new remote controlled hampton bay mediterranian fan and want to be able to control the fan and lights from wall switches as well. How do I wire it to the switches to run each separately?

You cant.
Some fans have hand held remotes, and they also make switch remotes. All need to be set for the same code. Not sure this model.
Yes, if you want control of the fan from the wall, you can get a matching RF wall remote. But the fan cannot be controlled from two wall switches and a remote.
Yep, one wall switch must be on for the remote receiver to even get power. If the wall switches are both off your remote can not do a thing. You could replace the wall switches with wall remotes as Ceilingfanrepair points out. All three remotes must be on the same frequency so check the dip switches. In this arrangement you must have power reaching the fan at all times for any of the three remotes to operate.
