My name is Hollie and I am a 36 year old woman who has given birth to two children. I have previously written a lengthy message regarding my symptoms and family history. I was somehow bumped out and my question was never noted.

I will get directly to the questions and hope that with minimal information right now it can be answered.

I am having severe pain between and during my cycles. My cycles are heavy with some large clotting. They are also irregular. I am having discolored discharge between cycles and bleeding after intercourse.

My mother is an ovarian and cancer of the uterus survivor. She was 22 when diagnosed.

I must also state that this is NOT ENDOMETRIOSIS.

Are these symptoms serious? Do they warrant more concerns than my Dr. or I may have? How exactly is ovarian and cancer of the uterus diagnosed? How do they know if they are not looking for it?

I am not going to say you have or do not have signs of cancer. You already have the family history, you already are experiencing problems, so you really need to go to your ob/gyn and explain this to him (or her). You could have something as benign as a cyst - relatively simple to take care of. It could be something else.

I do know some early symptoms of ovarian cancer can be mild, making this disease difficult to detect. Some early symptoms may include:
An unusual feeling of fullness or discomfort in the pelvic region
Unexplainable indigestion, gas, or bloating that is not relieved with over-the-counter antacids, pain during sexual intercourse, abnormal bleeding, and swelling and pain of the abdomen.

Here are some articles that may help you:

    MedlinePlus: Ovarian Cancer

Hope you find the right answer and are successful in treating what is going on.
