Hi, I'm wondering about my sound card. If it is the problem. It works for something's but doesn't work for other things. It works when I play a CD or CDR or download a movie off the internet. It doesn't work for my music programs such as cake and sonic foundry, and Yahoo messenger. Also there is no sound for the internet radio. What do you think? Thanks for your help.

What OS are you running?

Has this always happened, or just recently?


Sounds bizarre :)
One thing you can check, open up your favorite volume settings mixer program (windows has a built in one, double-click the speaker icon in the system tray) and make sure that none of the volume setting you need are muted or set too low.
