    Writ of Garnishmen and Levy
Hi I just opened my mail box and received a notice that my bank account would have a levy on it, and my employer gave me a copy that they are going to do the garnishments at work, 25% of every paycheck. I have direct deposit and if they levy my bank account instead of them doing 25% it would be 100% percent and I will be living in the streets because I will have absolutely no money, 0 in the bank account from the levy and since I have direct deposit my entire check goes into the bank. This sounds irrational and inhumane can anyone tell me this is not going to happen, and if this if right, or if I should do something to fix the situation? Help please:confused:

How much do you owe as compared to your salary?

I would suggest you open a new account, preferable with someone else or in a different state. Transfer all your funds to it. This would keep the crooks out of your money. You can set up new bank accounts online and never have to leave your home. I'e wamu. As for them taking 25% of your income, I would check with your states laws on garnishment. Usually it say they can only take up to 25% of your disposable income.
