SO... now that Annie my black lab took her de-worming (for tapeworms) medication from the vet she hasn't gone poop. I gave it to her Tuesday around noon, is this normal? She has usually gone 1-2 times a day, now not at all... what to do?

Lindsay, you need to give the vet a follow up phone call. It is not the norm for a dog to be constipated after taking worm meds. I am reluctant to suggest something to soften the stool without your vet's input. Is it at all possible that your Annie ate something she shouldn't have? She could have a blockage other than stool. A follow up call to your vet doesn't cost anything. Please let the vet give you direction as to what the next step should be.
P.S. I just saw your earlier post regarding Annie having diarrhea & your buying over the counter worm meds. Did you actually bring her into the vet and give her a different worm med within a day of the OTC one? Or did you just leave it at the OTC product to do the job. Either one of those situations could be creating the problem. Please call your vet. Annie probably needs to be brought in for an examination.
RubyPitbull is right. Dogs don't have near the constipation problems we have. If a dog is not having bowel movements, it often is serious, an din the case of blockages, it can be fatal to give a laxative. I enjoy logging on and finding a good answer to a question.
What can I do for my dogs constipation:eek:
