My dog Sadie is 5 years old. She is part American Shepard and Part somethin' else. She has always been a petite dog. Recently she has been loosing a lot of weight. I have taken her to the Vet and they could not come up with anything. I really need to get some weight on her. She is a picky eater at times, and her ribs are starting to show through her skin. She does eat her dry dog food, but I don't think that is enough. PLEASE HELP WITH SUGGESTIONS TO GET SOME WEIGHT ON SADIE!:(

Except in cases of being rehomed or something, it is almost unknown for a healthy dog not to eat enough to at least keep itself on the lean side of normal. You could try feeding a small breed puppy chow, or something from the vet.

I really think you need to push the vet more to find and fix whatever her problem may be. Perhaps even a different vet.
