    Renting and being foreclosed on
We are renting a house and it is being foreclosed on. Do we still pay the rent? How long do we have before we have to move out? We are in Minnesota

    Hello lindy:

Yes, you must still pay the rent. You'll have to move when the new owners take over. Or, maybe they'll want to rent to you again. Who knows?

I recently found out the property that I'm renting has been in foreclosure since 08, the landlord continued to collect rent until Dec. 09, I received notice from a realtor company that they now have possession and that Chase bank is the owner, the realtor company is trying to force me to give them a date as to when I can vacate the property, I need to know how long can live here.

    Hello lady:

Depending on where you live, legally you may not have may not have any longer than 30 days. In the real world, however, you can probably negotiate a couple months or longer. You'll have to pay them rent for that period, of course.
