    Pergo floor cleaning
Pergo instruction said use water + vinegar or water + ammonia. Is it safe to use floor cleaner sold at store? Any floor cleaner that is environmental friendly and no chemicals?

To be on the safe side, I would recommend following the instructions for the best results. I would imagine that floor cleaners that are environmentally friendly and have no chemicals should be okay, though. I just wouldn't be using any liquid that has abrasives of any kind in it on the floor.

We have pergo and the best thing I have found is to use a microfiber mop (I got mine at costco, made my scotchbrite, they sell them at target and kmart too) and windex. I sweep the floor and then spray windex (not a ton, just enough to clean the area... you'll figure it out) and then go over it with the microfiber mop. It works great, its cheap, and it doesn't smell like vinegar.

I have Pergo floors (thank god a rental as I would NEVER use them over natural wood as an interior designer) - I hate them with a passion. Too much dust collects on them, as the plastic acts like a magnet. The only thing that works is vinegar and water or windex. Anything else will leave them sticky and dull. Also had a flood and they buclked and had to be replaced - don't buy into the hype about how you can spill a bucket of water on them and nothing will happen...
