I have 6 week old kittens, and they got fleas from their mother. All medicine requires them to be either 8 or 12 weeks old. Anything I can do for now? I gave them a bath in kitty shampoo, but what about the house?

I would suggest moving the kitties somewhere like a garage, or a basement, and de-fleaing the rest of the house and then de-fleaing them when they are a little bigger, then moving the de-fleaed kitties to the house, and then de-fleaing wherever they were, a garage, a basement, etc.
P.S. Give the kitties hugs for me once they are flea-free. =)
The brand Advantage has one for cats and kittens 9 pounds and under. It does not give age, only weight.
Do they have a hotline you can call to ask if it's safe? If so, I would suggest doing that before you use it.
Hi,
You need to vacuum about every day and put the kitties in one room, where which they can't leave. Wash them in a special shampoo ( you can get at a pet store) twice a week. And in two weeks you can have the medicine given to them.
Good luck.
Call your vet and ask for frontline, its safe on kittens over 4 weeks... I had the same problem. ( it's $50. There are 3 treatments in a package. So you can trreat up to 3 of your kittens with the one package ) once you put the frontline on them they are going to start scratching a lot and the fleas are going to start jumping off. But by the next day, everything is flea free. Make sure you vacuum the next day to get all the dead fleas out of your carpet and furniture.Quote:
