My plumber recently installed a four jet shower system using a Moen 3320 rough in valve. After installing the system, he discovered that he could not adjust the cold water and only hot water comes out from the outlets. I would really appreciate any help that you can provide to solve this mystery. EMD

My husband figured out the problem. It turns out the dumb plumber did not follow the Moen instructions and did not remove the valve cartridges or flow balancer when he soldered the copper pipes to the outlets and inlets of the valve body. So, they were all destroyed during the installation process.

When my husband replaced the two cartridges and flow balancer, the hot and cold worked fine. Needless to say, we are going to reimburse the plumber for all his trouble with a new, cooked Moen valve!
