    Replacing PreFab Shower with Custom
What are things to consider when replacing a fiberglass shower and putting in tile and new fixtures? Appears from prior posts, that the custom pan is the trickiest part. What are the main materials or recommended approaches to a custom shower pan?

The nicest thing about replacing a prefab with a custom tile is that the drain will not have to be moved. The bad part is that it will have to be replaced by a flange type shower drain,(see image). Panning a shower's no big deal. I can walk you through it if you wish. Regards, Tom

I'd take Tom up on his offer. I do stuff similar to this all of the time. However, next week I'm starting a total bath tear out and will hit Tom up for advice converting a fiberglas shower to a custom tile with fiberglas pan. The second bath will replace a tub with a shower like the first earlier tear out. Both baths are in my own home and Tom's help will come in pretty handy.
