Used Furnaces. Good or Bad Idea?
I am thinking about purchasing a few used furnaces from a homeowner whom is leveling a two family dwelling. I think this is a cost effective method, rather then buying brand new. Is this something that can be done, and is there anything I should know in advance? Are used furnaces something to stay away from?

The first thing is what is the age and efficiency of the used units?? And what will you be using them for? ( your home, work shop, garage etc. ) With the rising fuel costs... the efficiency is the big issue, not to mention the current condition of them...

If the home is being knocked down what condition do you think the furnaces are in? This doesn't sound like a good plan to me. I have bought dozens of used cars in my life but when ywas the last time you met someone who bought a used furnace?
